Khalsa - Kolkata (Calcutta)

Punjabi food- especially sarso da saag and makki di roti in winters.. Just wow..... Saag was so good that it felt like cream.... And having it with makki ki roti made it even better...<br/ <br/ Kheer is just wow... Where can you have such good kheer at 50Rs only?... The answer is at dhaba@khalsa only.<br/ <br/ Parantha and chai is also amazing. Thanks for keeping away extra spices to your dishes.<br/ <br/ Obviously I didn't have all this in one visit, but I don't know how many times I have been here... And everytime I go... Its always for special punjabi food.

I have been to Dhaba Khalsa quite a number of times and today I couldn’t stop myself from reviewing a never disappointing North Indian food and one of the authentic punjabi cuisine serving restaurant in the city of joy!The place may seem dull by looks but is a gem when it comes to good food, all that glitters isn’t gold such is the case same here too: Haven’t tried their tandoori chicken in a while will gobble in my next visit!

I have checked in to this place a number of times and this is one of my most favourite dhaba. They serve exquisite lip smacking delicacies at an extremely thrifty rate. Few of my favourite items are Irani Chicken, Chicken Butter Masala and their Chicken Tikka Kebabs.<br/ <br/ Last time I visited this place I ordered:<br/ Chicken Butter Masala This extremely rich side dish is a power punch of flavours with a bulk of butter at the team. The piece of chicken served is extremely tender and got the right blend of some Indian spices. You'll never stop licking your fingers once you've tasted this authentic delicacy. It is grubbed with Tandoori Roti and the duo is drool worthy.<br/ <br/ Fish Tikka Kebab I got a little disappointed with this appetiser as I had high hopes because their Chicken Tikka Kebabs are one of my favorites. This kebab was a little pale in taste and lacked the right marination before getting shoved into the tandoor. The pieces of fish were small and not worth the price paid.<br/ <br/ However, their quality of food is really praiseworthy. They also provides you with a place of sliced cucumber and that is complimentary to your order. The service is good.

We were very hungry and ordered steamed rice,mixed veg and chick tandoori butter masala... Everything was very average in taste... The mixed veg was very normal and nothing special in it. Tandoori butter masala was of smokey flavour Nd not much buttery at all. Everything was very normal not so dhaba type...

A great place. Staffs are very good behavior and their service is also good. Serve delicious food. The quantity of food is really sufficient for anyone.
