Landgut Falkenstein (im Falkenstein Grand)

Good, expensive food with moderate service and beautiful view. All foods have tasted well and were nicely prepared, but also not particularly refined. The prices for the drinks are definitely covered (0.1l Riesling for 7.50€; €10.90 for 0.75l water), which for the asparagus also (32€ for asparagus with potatoes and sauce, €46 if a carving is included). The service did not fit the price or the claim of the house. Several times the service personnel did not know what table they should bring the court. Food and cutlery were sometimes not served professionally, partly also the tables are very narrow. The attention was good until 22:00. In total, I forgive only three stars in terms of performance in relation to price category. The food itself would certainly have earned four stars

We used to have been often and liked to eat in the Falkenstein estate and had always fed between neat and extraordinary. In our knowledge, the house has been under new management for some time and has unfortunately continuously deteriorated during the last visits in our eyes. A few examples of the visit a few days ago: despite reservation, we were put to a cat table, we were told that almost all tables were already reserved, but we got a decent table despite the difficult reservation situation. When leaving the restaurant, about 1/3 of all tables were occupied. without looking into the wine map we asked for two open corresponding wines. From the service we received two glasses per 0,2L), of which a 14€ limit but ok) and a 24€ cost for an ordinary Sauvignon Blanc without prior information not portable. under the variation of wild shrimp and scallop we had expected a little more than two shrimps and a split clam supplement). the service was, according to our feeling, more trained/attentive, e.g. Forgot water, forget to declare the spreads on bread, desert fork covered in the main dish... All in all, no loss, in the mass somewhat noticeable in this segment. Unfortunately, after our narrative, friends of us shared this assessment from their own experience, I had feared that we were too pampered. You may be curious if this new business approach will succeed in the long term.

One of the best restaurants throughout the Taunus. We were completely satisfied. Staff recommended the 5 cheese selection as dessert, really very special. Absolutely fine.

We were allowed to spend a great weekend in this house. What was particularly interesting to us - next to the gigantic view to Frankfurt - was the always friendly staff of Villa Rothschild and Kempinski Falkenstein. We feel so comfortable! Will recommend it and come back safely. Thank you.
