Bidrage med feedbackWe landed in the climper box by chance. We ran through Cologne's old town on a Friday night and wanted to eat something. After we came past some crowded locals, we found a free table here. The restaurant is located on the Alten Markt, in the heart of Cologne's city centre. What immediately disturbed me was the loud music from one of the climper boxes. I was glad when the “dud” finally stopped. The restaurant is decorated in the style of the 1920s, with several old music machines. You can bring them to life with some coins. Sometimes they play something, probably to remember. I was just too loud about the Klimperkasten music. When she played, you could hardly talk, you had to scream. The menu offers defensive German cuisine at civilian prices. We tried the thick beans with bacon and the pork carvings of Viennese type with cranberries and potato salad. The food was delicious. The portions were so dimensioned that we were fed well. The drinks prices were acceptable for the Cologne old town. Of course we had Kölsch tasted what else: we were served by two gentlemen who reminded me of student aids in Berlin. Not overwhelmingly friendly, but also not unfriendly. We had to wait for the place to be filled, not too long for drinks and food. The audience was mixed with all ages. I had the impression that some Cologne people were present, not a bad sign. To the toilets there is a steep staircase down to the basement. To get to the stairs, you have to fight through some tightly placed tables. That's what I left to my companion.
Jazz live in the middle of Cologne, small, slanted, wonderful atmosphere No entrance, the drinks prices are still good, the beer that is specially brewed for Papa Joe super, very recommended the cocktails For every lover of jazz an absolute recommendation
A small jewel with good service and live music in the middle of the old town.
Great! Every day live music. Soul, jazz, etc. Very cozy.
Lovely mood with live music. Nice operation and a great cocktail machine. Unfortunately, due to the historical location completely overcrowded.
