Biergarten Im Volksgarten - Köln

HORRIBLE. Very bad service. Welcomed unfriendly on arrival. We were not allowed to decide when we wanted to order our food because we first had to finish our drink, very derogatory behavior. The food was not tasty. A coca cola fell on the table, we had to clean it up with three tissues and were stared at by the staff. No help was offered. The new cola was added to the bill. After all this happened, we were no longer satisfied and the staff noticed this, we were therefore called mother f*ckers. We ate our food, paid and left immediately. Staff turning their eyes and surprised when we did not give a tip because we did not have a pleasant experience. Did not expect this place to be like that. Too bad about the money and the afternoon.

The night we came here it was very hot and muggy, even so I noticed how pleasant people were despite the heat. No loud talking, no loud music. Nothing obnoxious. Just people relaxing. The beer was amazing, in particular the rhubarb one that we had. Yum! Service was more than on point. A laid back, relaxing place!

Great place to be during summertime. Very relaxing atmosphere right at the lake where you can rent pedalos. There is also a small ice stand if you do not want to sit down. Drinks are served and ordered at the table but the food needs to be ordered at the cashier directly. There are huge signs on top. New people mostly don't recognize this and wonder where the menu is. Tip: don't forget the table number. You can choose from a wide range of salads, pasta, fries, meat and Schnitzel. It is not cheap but that's maybe the location. I tried the Schnitzel with fries, it comes with a little side salad. Taste was ok but I had better ones. If you hang out in the park you can use their restrooms for a little contribution. All in all a great place for a beer or more in a beautiful surrounding.

Just relax at the ceiling/park bench, observe people and enjoy the nature you can enjoy here well! Perfect for coming after the evening

The Volksgarten is located in the Kölner Südstadt and is a real oasis where the residents from the Kölner Südstadt walk. Especially families enjoy the summer in the park, barbecue on the meadows or drive boat on the small lake. The beer garden ensures the beverage access.
