Don Gallo - Knoxville

Tonight was the third night in the past couple months that we have been seated yet no one came to table. Once they dropped off chips but never came for drinks. Waited 20 mins previously and 10 minutes tonight. Plenty of help but they were busy havingconversations at the bar. Place has gone downhill.

Disappointing! We were 4 people there yesterday at around 2PM so they were certainly not too busy. The waitress didn?t write our order down and therefore got two of them wrong and then charged the higher price anyway. Another order came with chicken insteadof ground beef! To top it off we never were offered drink refills and we never got a visit to our table after our food arrivedand my sister had to eat alone as her food needed to be changed. I guess it was more important for our waitress to play on herphone than to provide good service to her patrons.

I dined here with my family for the first time, and unfortunately, I can't recommend it if you're seeking authentic Mexican cuisine. None of the flavors felt right. The refried beans seemed to be from a can, similar to Rosarita, and the rice tasted like Uncle Ben's. We won't be returning.

This restaurant can get quite busy, so I recommend making reservations for Friday and Saturday. I noticed that the bartender, Jorge, wasn't as friendly as usual—perhaps he was a bit stressed or tired from working long hours. The selection of Añejo tequilas was somewhat limited, featuring options like Herradura. Despite this, I will definitely return.

I visited this restaurant for lunch today and was disappointed by the cleanliness. One of the salsa bowls that was brought to our table had something crusted on the rim and a hair stuck at the bottom. Unfortunately, that reflects a lack of attention to detail and hygiene. I won’t be returning.
