The Acorn on Forest - Knox

About expensive and underwhelming... We were looking forward to trying the Acorn as we follow them on Facebook. The entire venue is amazing and has a great mood that we sit directly and ordered 4 soft drinks. They took about 20 minutes to reach no ice and flat. As soon as we ordered our food, we waited almost an hour for the food to arrive slowly. I had finished my meal before some even arrived. Calamari sections were ridiculous, taking into account the price. And the Greek salad? Was a handful of mixed leaves with dressing hidden somewhere. Parma was a decent part of BUT the sauce was full of raw/undercut onion. The Acorn could really benefit from the fact that at least one further employee on the ground the 2 employees were from their feet and the place was not even packed. Had really high hopes, but unfortunately, will not return

We visited the squirrels and restaurant Saturday night. What a little beauty! The food was nice, the setting was also nice, the staff was very good and very attentive. We just wanted to see a band standing room that's never disappointed. Thanks for a great night!

The food at this restaurant was fantastic, compliments to the chef. We came here for a family birthday with children and enjoyed a good meal and drinks. The bartenders did a great job with the wide variety of shots and drinks available. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by a large group of drunken men who arrived at 10 p.m. and caused a bar fight that spilled onto the dancefloor. The owner was seen drinking from customers' drinks and the security was ineffective in handling the situation. The aggressive behavior of some male guests made us and other guests feel very uncomfortable. The situation escalated quickly, and we decided to leave immediately. It's a shame that such violence occurred in what we thought was a safe environment. We will not be returning to this restaurant, as we no longer feel safe there. It's only a matter of time before the authorities get involved due to the excessive violence. It was a shocking and unpleasant experience that we hope to never encounter again.

Since COVID, they have made fantastic renovations and are now back in business. It was my birthday and the staff, especially Tam, went above and beyond to make it special by setting up a birthday party table for me. The whole restaurant has been modernized and looks clean, smart, and trendy. The food was delicious and filled with flavor. My favorite dish was the chicken wings - they were amazing. The portions were generous and the prices for drinks were affordable. I will definitely be returning soon.

Went here to have a steak that I heard was decent. 50 minutes to get it after had to ask was it ready. One medium one well done. Should of took pic. Pink almost raw. They were clearly embarrassed as we left it on the...plate cut up to see the pink raw meat... Gave us a half arsed excuse of we had a big order just before we ordered. Shabby. Also. Point of view. The singer telling people he's a busker outside a coles in boronia not very professional.
