Gasthof - Knightville

It was amusing because as soon as we walked in, they greeted us warmly and promptly placed the enormous platter in front of us, making us feel as if we had come home for dinner. It truly felt like being back at Grandma's house. My husband and I relished every bite, enjoying the meal just as much as if we were indulging in a leisurely dining experience, all thanks to that comforting atmosphere. We've already made a reservation for next year's Oktoberfest for a party of 20! I don't think I can wait that long, so I’ll be looking for any excuse for a nice drive this spring.

We have visited the Gasthof on and off for the past decade, even though it's a bit of a drive for us (about 1.5 hours), and we've never been disappointed! Our most recent visit was fantastic – the service was friendly, the portions were enormous, and the food was delicious. Everyone in our group ordered some variation of schnitzel, and they were perfect; you would have thought you were in Germany if it weren’t for Southern New Brunswick. They also have several options for kids, but ours had no trouble with the German noodles (Spaetzle) and the non-sauced schnitzel. We were too full for dessert, but we ended up with leftovers that made for a lovely lunch the next day! I will admit that the prices are on the higher side, but the generous portions justify it. So, if you’re looking for a great meal, take a drive to the Gasthof!

This is the best restaurant in New Brunswick. The food is delicious and the helpings are so big! Well worth the drive from Moncton! The staff are so efficient and the meals never disappoint!!
