I have to confess I had my doubts about a restaurant I had never heard of before, situated in the suburbs.... but what a pleasant surprise! This might be one of the better kept secrets in Klerksdorp. In an unassuming way, JD5 had won me over! I was drawn by a social media ad of their Curry evening and none of the five curry dishes disappointed. Well done to the team at JD5!

We were a party of 7 at JD 5 yesterday evening for the exclusive foodaholic evening. Started with a blueberry salad with dried Cranberries feta which was delightfully soft and creamy parmesan and a blue cheese dressing which was not overpowering. Super starter which was refreshing and quantity was perfect. It was paired with Annabelle cuvee rose semi sweet bubbly. I would have preferred to have the choice of a dry Brut bubbly. The teriyaki grilled chicken slider was flavoursome the chicken moist and not overcooked and the amount was perfect for a five-course meal. It was paired with a Stella Artois. Peach tart with brie prosciutto and mascarpone what a Picture Perfect presentation. Could have been used in a cookbook. Yummy. Paired with durbanville Hills chardonnay. Black and aubergine with whipped Danish feta and harissa oil was flavoursome. Again artfully presented. Paired with a kwv Shiraz. Service was excellent and Anton John Wayne and Nicholas and bernald made one feel so welcome.

Celebrated a 21st , we could not have chosen a better venue! Exclusive menu and absolutely devine food, excellent service made our evening an event to cherish forever. Thank you JD5

For our weekly game night, we decided to do something different and booked a table at JD5. It turned out to be a wonderful evening we had ample space to play Rummicub, chat and enjoy the three course meal prepared for us (and the yummy welcome bread and butter was a nice touch). The food was delicious, and big enough portions not to leave you craving for more. Love the vibe, the personal touch and the sense of exclusivity you experience as JD5 provides an intimate atmosphere you will not experience at a bigger restaurant.

Friendly service, exquisite plating and finest food in town. Highly recommended.
