Bidrage med feedbackThe Bluewood is a lovely new pub that offers live entertainment on Thursdays. The food is locally sourced and beautifully presented, with amazing service. I tried the MOMMA DIGBY’S MEATLOAF SAMMY and it was delicious and filling. The wings were also tasty and the prices were very reasonable. I suspect that the reviewer "Mrhaloween H" may work for a competing restaurant, as his review of The Bluewood seems inaccurate. I highly recommend giving The Bluewood a try.
I decided to try out a new restaurant that was located inside the Howard Johnson hotel. To my disappointment, the place looked good on the inside but that was about it. You can try to change the appearance and elevate it, but in the end, it's just a dive. They serve drinks, but so does everyone nowadays. The food was mediocre at best, to put it politely. I would recommend the new place down the road to anyone who appreciates quality, and this place to those who don't mind a lower standard. I could sense that money was being wasted quickly at this restaurant. It's a shame that someone tried to revive this place with a last-ditch effort.
We all decided to try the specials of the day, which included a potato and bacon soup and bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin with apple chutney, roasted carrots, and a baked potato. The soup was delicious, with fresh bacon and small potato pieces in a creamy base. I particularly enjoyed the garnish of green onions, which added a nice touch to the flavors. Everyone agreed that the pork tenderloin medallions were excellent, especially with the slightly spicy apple chutney. The carrots were crisp and flavorful, and when I asked for bacon bits for my baked potato, I was brought a bowl of freshly cooked bacon cut into bits, which was heavenly. Overall, it was a delightful dinner with pleasant music and a nice atmosphere. The only downside was the lack of dessert, as it was still being worked on for the menu, which my father was eagerly anticipating.
Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the owner (Ivan) and his staff. We had our choice of seats, but never felt left alone. The service was quick, and my girlfriend had a specialty drink called a South Pacific. She loved it! We both ordered...food- hers being a chicken sandwich which she devoured) and I had the meatloaf sandwich. This was a lot of food, but well worth it as it was flavourful and filling. On this particular visit (we will definitely return) there was live entertainment which was nice. I spoke with Ivan about his establishment and learned that he has only just opened in the past months, and has many plans to improve the experience. These plans include a larger menu, patio, and specials. This place is great for anyone or anything.

I'm pretty sure the reviewer called Mrhaloween H works for the restaurant "up the street" as his review of this eatery is completely off base and reviews of "that" restaurant aren't nearly as glowing as his. The Bluewood is worth a try for sure.
