Bidrage med feedbackWe loved our visit to this restaurant! All of the adults enjoyed the delicious spicy steak. The server was excellent and attentive throughout our visit. She noticed how much tea I was drinking and even brought me a whole pitcher.
This Mexican restaurant is, without a doubt, the most visually appealing one on this side of the border. It has a lively atmosphere and tasteful decor, featuring fascinating art that flows smoothly throughout the restaurant and bar. I tried the chimichanga, and they definitely got it right. The beans and rice were incredibly flavorful, showcasing the effort and dedication they put into even the simplest Hispanic dishes. The guacamole was perfect and the pico de gallo was fresh and zesty. Although the chimichanga was smaller than expected, it made up for it in flavor. The quality cuts of meat and crispy shell elevated this comfort food to new heights. The margaritas were delicious as well, with the on-the-rocks version being smooth and the frozen one packing a punch. The service was great and everything was kept clean. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant!
The food is delicious and the service is very attentive at this restaurant. The only reason I am not giving it full stars is because they tend to make a loud noise when they celebrate birthdays or other special occasions. I appreciate the festive atmosphere, but it can be disruptive, especially if I have a sleeping newborn who gets awakened multiple times during a meal. Perhaps they could consider keeping the celebrations a bit quieter in the future?
Rating: Stars This restaurant is an above average Mexican restaurant, and it is good for Kirksville. The bar is very nice, and they have a nice beer selection. It is a fun place to watch a game. The chips and salsa are tasty. I went there twice in one week. Both times I got enchiladas. The first time, I got the Enchiladas Verdes, and the second time I got the Pollo Enchiladas. The chicken in both was somewhat bland and lacked a lot of flavor. Also, there was too much cheese just thrown on. The refried beans and rice were both very good. Mi Casa is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant in Kirksville, but La Pa is good too!
If you eat at this place, you better keep your receipt and make sure it matches what is charged to your credit card…. Myself and a few others were all billed a small amount higher than what we had written down on our receipts. Everyone was charged a different amount more, and the amounts were not an equal amount higher, so it was not a gratuity charge. Some amounts were an even higher, and a few other people tipped to get their true total to be a round number, such as yet they were billed higher which resulted in a different amount being charged. Upon discussion with the restaurant, it was called a “system error.” Here I was just assuming the server was stiffing us, but what a relief to know the software they use to bill customers is not working properly and can just randomly charge whatever it wants! Whew, that is such a relief to know! Anyways, I just wanted everyone to be aware of this “system error.” Can you imagine if one server was stiffing customers though? If they serve customers a night, work five nights a week, and are pocketing an extra Man, they are taking home an extra per week, or per year! That would be bad though, because only one server is doing that, and thus making more than their peers. Which is just simply unfair. But thankfully it is just a system error that charges whatever it wants to customers with no explanation. That means the company as a whole is making more money to distribute equally to all of their other waiters! What a great company! Maybe all companies should have their accounting software have errors so all of their employees can be rich!
