This restaurant is hidden from big or main roads. It’s by a gas station and we found it by chance. We had their steak a la Mexicana and guisado de carne con papas, they were both very good. Their menu is quite large so you do have enough options. Servers are attentive and they make sure you are well taken care off. I will go again and hope I can stick to this review for a long time. They're in the process of changing their name to El Jimador Mexican grill. Also, the biggest reason why I'm giving them 5 stars is because the food we had tasted like real mexican food; not tex-mex. It's nice going to a place where you can find traditional mexican food.Update 3/1/21Went back and this time the portions were much smaller; we ordered the same steak a la Mexicana and it came with plenty of onions and peppers and very little beef; just enough for two tacos. We also ordered the Chile relleno and it was not only small but it also had very little beef. Servers were very good but I don’t think I will be going back.
First time here with the wife and our 2 boys and the food and hospitality was amazing. Think we found us a spot!!! We will be coming back.
It's good if they get your order right. Delicious otherwise.
This restaurant is now EL JIMADOR #12. We had driven past this place on Hamblen Road probably a hundred times, and finally decided to give it a try. Had lunch there yesterday and was very impressed. Place was clean, staff was friendly, prompt and attentive. Most importantly, the food was very good. From their lunch menu, We got the chicken enchiladas, the cheese enchiladas, and grilled chicken breast. Everyone gave their meals an enthusiastic 2 thumbs up. We all love Mexican Tex-Mex food and have eaten at most, if not all, of such restaurants in the area. For price, service, and the taste and quality of the food, I would put El Jimador in my top 4.
