Bidrage med feedbackOne of the restaurants which strives to perfect the east meets west cuisine. Serving on one big dumpling each was a bit odd. Flavours are good and service was good.
Incredibly overpriced and ordinary. None of our $35 mains came with vegetables and the flavours were not particularly inspired. Small servings but we had leftovers of everything because it wasn't good enough to want more. Service was excellent but at $300 for 4 ( not including desert), could have done way better.
Came up to Canberra for the weekend & visited Wild Duck on the Kingston Foreshore on Thursday night. Service was lovely - very welcoming and attentive. We ordered the Traditional Peking Duck for entree which was mouth watering - the duck was so tender and the hoisin sauce added that extra flavour. For mains we ordered the Kung Po Chicken & Pork Belly in Lotus Leaf. The Kung Po chicken was a simple but well-cooked dish. The macadamia nuts added texture and complimented the chicken. However, despite being promised a 'spicy Szechuan', it was very mild. The Pork Belly was cooked to perfection - falling apart - and the sticky rice matched beautifully and worked so well with the pork belly. While Wild Duck had great quality food, we found the prices were a bit steep considering portion sizes - we were left fed, but far from full.
Had dinner here last Saturday night. Excellent service throughout the night - polite and unobtrusive but we never lacked for anything. The food was fantastic - we had the banquet for two and it was almost perfect. Good drinks menu with local wines and priced reasonably well. Will definitely be going back here to try the other menu items.
Ate at wild duck on a Wednesday after being recommended by a colleague. Was a quiet night... Food was ordinary at best. Beef salad was dry and tasteless, pork belly sloppy and tasteless, duck nothing special. Service was ok but the upselling by the waitress was so pushy it bordered on rude! All in all an ordinary experience from a pricey restaurant.
