Walt & Burley - Kingston

I made a reservation for brunch with a big group of friends. When we arrived, the table was set up nicely with menus already placed. The brunch menu may not have been extensive, but it offered something for everyone such as sweet French toast, bacon and egg rolls, smashed avocado and eggs on toast, and baked eggs with chorizo. We each ordered and paid separately at the bar, which was convenient for a large group. The food was excellent - my poached eggs were perfectly cooked and the herby tomatoes with feta were delicious! We ended up spending a long time there, ordering more coffees because we were so comfortable. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience and we will definitely return in the future.

We recently had lunch at Walt Burly and sat outside to enjoy the sunshine. The service was friendly, the menu extensive and the staff friendly. Lovely little spot for an afternoon drink in a pretty part of Canberra

Dinner was really yummy and there was lots of other stuff on the menu I wanted to try but honestly this “oyster mornay” aka oyster with yellow cheese spread was just unethical.

We had the good fortune of hosting an event for 120 people at Walt Burley last weekend. Danny and the team were nothing short of extraordinary in their assistance in planning the menu, accommodating our requests to change small details, right through to the set up and service during the evening. The staff were outstanding in their patience, enthusiasm and professionalism. I would highly recommend Walt Burley to any group or business who were considering hosting a function in Canberra.

We waited a good while for our 4 meals, when they arrived we asked what had happened to the 1 entree we ordered. The waitress went back and brought out the entree, no explanation, no apology for the fact we were receiving it after starting our main meals. The meals had a lot of chips, which were cold. The 2 eggplant dishes we ordered were not cooked through; the eggplant was hard and needless to say, tasteless. When the waitress came to take our plates away we asked if we could give some feedback. We told her all of the above. She was not really interested. No one was interested. We won't be going back
