Bidrage med feedbackThe food at this restaurant is prepared quickly out of sight, especially when the chef disappears into the kitchen. As a woman of mixed race with Caribbean roots, I can confidently say that what I was served today was not truly curried chicken. It was simply seasoned chicken. The plantain was severely overcooked to the point of being blackened. The rice dish was a mishmash of jollof rice and rice and peas. While I can't speak on the authenticity of the jollof rice, the rice and peas was simply rice with kidney beans - very disappointing! The chef even offered to add some curry goat to my meal, but I declined, suspecting that it would be just as underwhelming. The mixed vegetables were store-bought, not freshly prepared. This experience solidified my belief that non-Caribbean chefs should not attempt to cook Caribbean cuisine without proper approval. I consider myself lucky that I didn't inspect the food until I arrived home. To top it off, the chef had the audacity to charge me nearly £8 for this subpar meal! While many English customers may enjoy her cooking, those with a discerning palate will know better. Periodt.
I am a frequent customer at this restaurant and I always order the curry goat. The meat is soft and delicious, and the owner is very friendly. Their banana cake is excellent, especially when served warm. I highly recommend this place.
The aroma emanating from this food stall is delightful, and it consistently sees a high volume of customers. My go-to dish is the jerk chicken, which is served with rice and is incredibly affordable at just under £5. Situated in Kingston's bustling market area, you'll come across numerous food stalls offering street food with minimal seating options.
My mum and I have been visiting this food stool for quite a while now and it never ever fails to hit the spot. Every time we visit Kingston we have to visit you. Everything is full of flavour and absolutely out of this world. My favourites are the jerk chicken and curry goat. The patties are to die for! You’re always greeted with a smile! The prices are very reasonable. The sauces are also very good too! Hot pepper sauce is my favourite. I also tried the Guinness punch which is also wonderful! Looking forward to eating your food again soon!
I have been to the market many times and I can safely say that I have now found my favorite food! The goat curry is yummy and full of flavor as well as reasonably priced so make sure you try it!
