Bidrage med feedbackCurrently undergoing renovations, I bet this will be a very nice, reasonably priced place later this summer (2016) or 2017. I can 't speak to pricing for winter ski season. Pros: The rooms are fairly large, all with 2 queen beds I believe. Pets are a small extra charge. Some rooms have an outside door and patio type seating just outside. Nice dining room seating. Clean. Pleasant staff. Easy parking. Entry is with a magnetic swipe. Very easy. Cons: Some rooms face road and are pretty loud. Workout space is small and has no windows. Bunch of different cardio machines though giving plenty of choice for people. Bathroom door is just oddly placed. At least in the rooms I was in. TV has limited channels. Seems to have lots of work happening so the grounds are not as nice as I imagine they might be. Resulted in not great views and plenty of daytime noise. Mattresses are hard and the mattress covers are cheap and don 't help much. Pillows that have no give. Unknown: Pool under construction or renovation when I was here. I would stay here again. But Id call first to find out what was actually open, because the pool not being open was a surprise to me. I would have preferred knowing about all the construction happening too. No afternoon naps were had.
Staying in Killington for the week, we looked for some inexpensive hotels to stay at that wouldn't break the bank, and would let us bring our pet (for a fee, fine). I have to say I'm pretty happy we found this place. It's not the Ritz Carlton, and it definitely has that old school ski lodge feeling in some parts, but our room was definitely updated, clean, and there's a good variety of amenities at the Inn (hot tub/pool, fitness room, game room, above average continental breakfast). Walls are a little thin... we could hear the kids upstairs running around a little bit. I also wish there was more storage for us people staying a little longer than a couple days, but overall it's a good place.
Resort Hah! Hardly, the sole proprietor who has a pubic hair beard is a completely horrible person and incredibly unhelpful. Save yourself the hassle and find a real hotel. Terrible amenities, tired rooms, failing plumbing, basically your last option of places to stay. I would NOT recommend this place. They also love the teaser rate and then add on costs for basic amenities such as sleeping people in a room, having the included breakfast, using the pool, and parking!
The Cortina Inn is an unpretentious and relaxing basic place to stay for a ski vacation. My friends and I went up on a Sunday night and stayed two nights with a day of skiing in between. The decor is definitely shabby 1970s Vermont, but not in a dingy way. The inn staff were very nice and warm. The inn is only about 10 minutes away from Killington, or 10 minutes in the other direction to Rutland. Our room itself was clean and fresh. It was up to the standards of any of the chains I've stayed in. We had two queen sized beds, which meant our party of four only needed one room. It was nice to sit by the fireplace and read. The hot tub and pool were an especially nice touch after a day of negative temperatures on Killington's slopes. The only downside was, as others have noted, the breakfast. The food was by no means inedible, but it wasn't particularly good. If breakfast is a priority, look elsewhere or hit up Sugar and Spice.
Great hotel to stay. Too bad it is being converted to an assisted living facility. We stayed there the last night it was a hotel. Close by to Pico and Killlington for skiing. It has an indoor pool and jacuzzi which I took full advantage of. The room was very spacious. Plus they have complimentary hot tea and coffee and fresh baked choclate chip cookies(! in the afternoon. In the morning, they have a huge complimentary breakfast with eggs, french toast, cereal, sausage, biscuits, gravy, etc. The lobby has a rustic Vermonty feel to it. Hope it stays open as a hotel!
