Country Tavern - Kilgore

This place is incredible! There's no menu here, but you can enjoy a variety of dishes like ribs, turkey, brisket, sausage, and hot links, along with a selection of delicious sides and desserts. Plus, they treat you to a warm towel after your meal!

A little more than most bbq but I do think it's worth it and by the packed house so does everyone else.

However, the cobbler was quite disappointing—I’d rate it a 4, and that’s mainly because of the accompanying ice cream, which seemed to be cinnamon-flavored. On a positive note, I really appreciated the hot towel provided after the meal for cleaning my hands and face. One downside was the lack of cell signal when leaving, but that’s not their fault. Thankfully, the gas station across the street helped me find my way back to the interstate.

I grew up in Tyler and fondly remember many visits to the Country Tavern. It's been at least 20 years since my last visit, but a recent business trip brought me back to the area. The ribs are just as fantastic as I remembered. On a hot summer day, nothing beats enjoying a cold beer from a frosty chalice. The entire experience felt like a warm homecoming; East Texas truly leaves a mark on your heart. The service was excellent as well. I won't let so much time pass before I come back again.

Food is amazing always consistent, ribs pull off the bone, brisket moist and full of flavor. Every side is filled with flavor. 10 out 10
