Taverna Maui - Kīhei

We decided that staff was a problem last night. we had almost 20 minutes without anyone taking our drink order! the nice woman who sat us was embarrassing that we got our drink order! later we learned that she was the owner and filled herself for personal problems! eating was delicious as usual, but the noise level was terrible! there should be a possibility to mitigate the noise without sacrificing the atmosphere. we know other restaurants that were successful in this area. we will come back next year definitiw. a taverna dinner has become our tradition! cyndy steve lane eugene, or

Terrible. the charcuterie board was saving and the salami so garlicky it was unusable. the flatbread was burned and as dry as eating karton. the gnocchi was the only edible food, but not enough to feed the whole group. the weelist had some real youngs. the bartender was rude (if we waited for our table) and the chef is one of those who let them order everything at once - for unedible foods! they please one and stay away. we were 3 times in 12 months in maui and found many much better options.

Disappoint. it was like a tourist, noisy, overpriced restaurant. too many tables for too few waiting staff. the menu for pasta was limited for an Italian restaurant.

The second time here during our trip. both of them was eating very well. the breanzino is a must and the gnocchi is excellent. we ate at many fine foods during our trip, but these two dishes were our favorites. the manager let us welcome and reminded us of a previous visit, a cool experience.

Amazing waiter (Cooper) who was originally a bartender and pulled to the floor to cover for a call in. Was extremely attentive, full of life and had us laughing all night. Food was phenomenal, and we had multiple dishes. Ambiance was perfect, amazing view. Extremely enjoyable experience, would highly recommend.
