Uva Gourmet Shoppe - Key West

Yesterday evening, my girlfriend and I discovered Uva while on our way to Faustos in search of a nice bottle of wine. We were warmly welcomed by Mark, who was not only friendly and knowledgeable but also had some of the best hair on the island. We knew we had found the perfect spot. Choosing our wine was such a delightful experience, especially since we enjoyed it later on. Mark’s evident love for wine, along with his passion for supporting his country and those who protect it, truly stood out. We will definitely be returning and recommending this place to others!

We had a wonderful dinner at Flaming Bouy. Mark took the time to help us find the perfect wine and offered great local recommendations for the rest of our visit. It's a charming little spot. I would definitely recommend stopping by!

I visited Uva in search of a bottle of champagne, and Mark, the owner, provided me with a brief lesson on the difference between genuine champagne and other sparkling wines. He then recommended a bottle that fit my needs perfectly, which was at the lower end of my budget. It was so refreshing to find someone who genuinely prioritizes helpfulness and honesty over simply making a sale. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!

Large selection, location, etc. Uva checks all boxes, but where it really seems with customer experience. Mark goes over and over to give quality recommendations and makes every visit special: he knows his product, his community and what makes a glass of wine with friends an unforgettable event. Uva was innovative during COVID shutdown and delivered delivery that remains a very appreciated service in the city. The app is effortless to use I ordered from a busy walkway, biked at home and had delivered two bottles an hour later, wow! Uva is exceptional hands!

We spent about an hour in the shop talking wine, food, music, New York, New Jersey, Key West,… with Mark. He’ll hate the bougie-ness of this descriptor, but he has a wonderfully curated selection of wine. We stopped in for a couple of bottles for dinner at Lola’s Bistro and he nailed pairing wines with the food served there. He also recommended some other bottles that we really enjoyed and some local restaurants (only made it to 7 Fish) to help us on our first visit to Key West. Highly recommend the shop for a selection of wines that are probably different than you’ll find elsewhere on the island, moderately priced, and sold by someone who really wants you to enjoy your wine.
