Old Town Mexican Cafe - Key West

Great location. I’ve avoided eating here because I assumed it was more of a tourist place. I was exhausted from the beach so I thought I’d try a quick bite at the bar. The service was great and the place is very cute, but the food was not : I was out of energy at that point so I just had a few bites and didn’t have the energy to let the server know. I ordered the $21 quesadilla and $2.50 chips salsa. The flavor of the cheese steak was dry. The cheese seemed to be bagged cheese so it didn’t really melt right and the rest was very dry and chewy.

Stopped in for lunch and what a pleasant surprise. Sangria and house salad were delicious. Guacamole was excellent.

I rarely write online reviews, but I’m still thinking about this bad experience a year later…. I came here last year with my sister and we waited over an hour for our food to come. Once it finally came, we were both underwhelmed with how it tasted. A couple bites in, we both found hairs in our food!! We pretty much lost our appetites but decided to snack on some chips while waiting for the check. There was an eyelash baked into the chip!!!! By then, we were so grossed out and had to complain to the waiter, who then called over the manager. They simply apologized and still made us pay full price. We were very disappointed and wish we had gone somewhere else.

Just don’t know what to say about it because I couldn’t find the parking ?️ lot.. place was packed so I’m sure it has good ? food ?! If you ever do get inside eat some for me please!!! ??‍

When the chicken ends up jumping on your table and in your plate it’s kinda hard to enjoy anything. Staff did not do anything or seem to care. Don't recommend it at all.
