Bidrage med feedbackWe dined here while staying at the Sheraton Hotel, looking for a quick meal. The outdoor seating area offers a pleasant view of the pool, but it can become a bit monotonous. We visited during lunch and found the place quite empty, with plenty of available seating. We began with the nachos, which were underwhelming—similar to store-bought chips with just a few toppings. I then tried the Coconut Shrimp; it wasn’t bad, but it didn’t impress either. On a positive note, our waitress was very engaging and friendly, so the service was certainly a highlight.
2 years later the staff knows how to handle platinum customers! Congratulations! I came here exactly two years ago, stayed at this hotel, and the staff was so confused as to what platinum members were! The hotel had no clue what to do! It was a mess! But I'm glad to see you have your stuff together and the staff at coral crab is well aware now that our card entitles complimentary breakfast (as it says on the card that we show you upon entering the restaurant! ;
Had breakfast, it was your standard omelet. Gave it 3 stars just because no salt or pepper were provided and it was needed. (Room service)
The service was outstanding. My server was thoughtful enough to sit beside me because I was having difficulty hearing due to sinus issues. This personal touch really helped me choose the perfect drink. As for the food, it was decent, but not extraordinary. The cook doused our tacos with sauce, which overshadowed the real star—the mahi mahi. The slaw was also overloaded with mayo. I would definitely consider returning, but I recommend ordering the sauce on the side for the tacos. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that the restaurant is conveniently located right across from Smathers, where you can rent chairs and umbrellas, making it easy to grab a quick bite.
Secondly, our son's grilled cheese was the worst I've ever encountered. The bread was the thinnest, driest I’ve seen, and it came with processed American cheese that wasn't even melted. When the menu states it's "crammed with cheese," that is not what we expected to be served. On a positive note, our smoked fish dip was excellent. However, my silverware was wrapped in a napkin that had been rolled in a dirty napkin—quite unappetizing. It really shouldn’t be difficult to pay attention to the little details. It’s unfortunate that a nice hotel fails to get the kitchen right. This seems to be a common issue in many upscale hotels these days.
