Bidrage med feedbackMy husband and I absolutely adore this restaurant. We make sure to visit every time we're in the Keys. Be sure to stop by here.
My husband and I made a pit stop at Alabama Jacks on our way to Key West, as per our friend's recommendation. Located on the side of the road, it is impossible to miss. Situated just before the card sound bridge, it is the only restaurant for miles around. The atmosphere is fantastic - open, rustic, and laid-back. Although we were initially seated at a table, we asked to be moved to a table near the bar with a view of the water. The restaurant is closed at night, likely due to its open setting and potential for bugs. I ordered the crab cake sandwich and my husband got the grouper sandwich, with a side order of conch fritters that we shared. The food was served piping hot and fresh, with delicious freshly baked bread. The staff was also extremely attentive and friendly. Make sure not to miss this hidden local gem for a quick meal or a cold beer.
I always make it a priority to stop by for some food and drinks at this restaurant. The scenery is beautiful, the staff is attentive, and the food is delicious.
When you arrive at a place like this , you know you're in for a real treat or a disaster. We enjoyed our meal. The table by the water was quite small . You need to be careful with your cell phone and anything else you treasure. Conch fritters were good, but not my first choice. Fish and crab cakes were delicious. It's the whole fish shack vibe that makes for the experience.
We went because of the show Bloodline. Cool to sit at a high top by the canal but other than that...I get that times are tough. We still tipped our server very well. But if you get limited vacation meals and aren't a Bloodline fan I wouldn't bother. The table was dirty, house salad came with diced tomatoes as if leftover from prep of a different dish, the conch Fritters were all batter. They were out of the first 3 beers we named, our waitress went to eat her own dinner just as we were finishing ours so there was no one to clear plates, bring the check, ask how things were.
