Grill Off The Green - Kew

I have dined at Grill Off The Green numerous times in the past. Today, on a Sunday afternoon, we dropped in without a reservation and were greeted with exceptional service and exceptional food. It was truly delightful. This restaurant in West London has become my favorite, as it reminds me of the authentic dining experience before chain restaurants became so prevalent. I absolutely adore it.

The food is consistently delicious and the staff, who have been there for years, are always friendly and remember us.

Last night, on May 20th 2022, four of us had the most wonderful evening at Grill off the Green. The Portuguese waiter was not only entertaining but also very knowledgeable, and he graciously allowed us to delay our ordering as we were thoroughly enjoying ourselves and sharing lots of laughter. The food was absolutely fantastic. The starters were amazing, especially the mushrooms which come highly recommended, and the haggis black pudding was reportedly fantastic. Our main courses included two orders of baby back ribs (which came in enormous portions), steak, and sea bass, all of which were excellent. We were too full to try desserts but we will definitely be returning in the future. The wine and cocktails were lovely and the prices were very reasonable for London.

If you want a fantastic steak in a calming environment with properly made potent cocktails then with 5 star service, then there really is no other alternative. This restaurant knows how to cook meat with my medium rare T-Bone exactly medium rare and my wife's sirloin was as requested....well done even though I'm sure it's against the chefs creed to do so but the quality of the meat meant it was still tasty. Antonio, Tony and Eddie were as ever consumate hosts making us feel welcome and special. I can't recommend this little slice of grilled meat heaven highly enough and can only say...try it.

We spent the afternoon at Kew but sadly they decided it was a great idea to close their food places at 1400. So off we trotted in search of food! Google, who knows me well, recommended this place. As usual, she was right. It was a good first sign that we all took our time to find what we wanted on the menu, as so much caught our eyes. We ended up with a couple burgers, a steak and some fish and chips. It was all thoroughly delicious. Service was flawless too. Sadly we aren't local, but when we visit Kew again we will be back.
