La Chicana - Kentwood

Enjoyed a great plate of Mexican food. Rice was prefect and so was my taco. Great job ... Hope to stop in often!!!

I want to clarify that this is not an actual restaurant. While it may be the address of the food truck owners, there is no restaurant here. I gave it one star because I believe it is misleading to the public.

La Chicana operates at various locations, primarily in the Kalamazoo/Portage area, as well as at festivals, birthday parties, graduation celebrations, block parties, and any other events upon request. The name "La Chicana" translates to "The Strong Woman," which perfectly describes its owner—a dear friend of mine who truly embodies strength. She handles all the cooking, setup, and serving from her food cart to ensure her customers receive the best food and service possible. They were at a food truck rally and had the most incredible pork tamales! I'm not sure if she serves tamales regularly, but they were absolutely delicious.
