Golden Steer Steak'n Rib House - Kent

I really appreciate a classic, reliable restaurant, and I was hoping this one would be a delightful surprise. It's a bit unassuming, located in the same parking lot as a grocery outlet. Unfortunately, even though the service was excellent—our waitress was incredibly sweet and you could tell the staff had been there for quite some time—the food just didn't meet expectations at all. Sadly, I can't recommend it.

We made a reservation through OpenTable, only to arrive and find the restaurant closed for construction. It was incredibly frustrating.

The interior could use some updating. The waitress was friendly but made several mistakes and often forgot our requests. The prime rib was just okay—on the dry side—and the mashed potatoes were cold. When I asked for them to be corrected, they brought a new plate that was still cold. They did take off just under $5 from my bill, which was appreciated. However, I did enjoy the kids' cheeseburger when I tasted it from my son's plate. If we ever return, I would likely order the cheeseburger. Overall, given the price we paid, I expected the food to be better.

I love a good ol stacking restaurant and I had really hoped that this place would be a great surprise. it's unbelievable. is located on the same parking space as a food store. although the service was excellent - our waitress was so sweet and I really wanted to love the place because I could tell everyone that everyone was working there was one because there. the food was just not good. at all. can not recommend.
