Las Carnitas 2 - Kenner

The food is great but sadly they don?t have yuca. The prices are good for the huge portions you get. They also don?t have home made chicha which is another main item you would find in Peru.

Back on March 29, 2022 I randomly stopped at the quaint Las Carnitas 2 Peruvian Restaurant in Kenner, Louisiana before catching my flight back to Chicago. Oh my ... the food was delicious! I totally enjoyed their flavorful Tacos Mexicanos and Tamal de Pollo. With the tacos you get to choose beef, chicken, fish or a combination of the three options on corn or flour tortillas. For my dish I chose the 3 beef tacos on corn tortillas. The Tamal de Pollo was different than anytamale I've ever had. It was hearty and could have been a meal all by itself. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Food was good and whole place was clean and our waitress was very professional even though i dont speak spanish she was able to take our order and explain the food and made me comfortable

Probably the best place I?ve found to eat in Kenner. There is definitely a bit of a language barrier. But, I spoke to the waitress in English and she spoke to me in Spanish, and it all worked out in the end. First of all- if you order the tamales, and you?re used to Mexican tamales, this is a whole different level of tamale. The appetizer comes with 2, and you could make a meal out of that. These are huge tamales stuffed with potatoes, carrot, peas, chicken and olives. Verytasty. I also had the pollo guisado (stewed chicken) which was also delicious. Beans and rice, a large potato and carrots as well as a salad. This all came with a giant tortilla. Needless to say, I am stuffed and currently heading into afood coma. Great spot, worth the search!

Owner and the food is fantastic, but the people that he has working there are beyond rude.
