The Orient Restaurant - Kelowna

I am utterly shocked after dining at this restaurant for the first time. Despite the negative reviews, we chose to focus on the positive comments. What a grave error that was. In my 60 years of life, I have had my fair share of subpar Chinese food, but nothing comes close to the appalling quality of the dishes served at this establishment. If you choose to disregard the warnings and only pay attention to the good reviews, you have only yourself to blame. Learn from our mistake and steer clear of this restaurant. The food is atrocious, simply terrible. I struggle to find words to convey just how dreadful it was. We even tried to salvage it with our own sauces, but the food was overly coated in flour, the noodles were soggy, and the taste was indescribable. This was by far the worst mall food I have ever consumed. I would rather go hungry than dine here again.

I had dinner for two and I have to say it was a waste of $40.00. I ended up throwing out the food. I will never order from this place again.

We ordered a combo meal for four people. The fried rice was burnt and overly greasy, and the rest of the combo was not tasty either. The restaurant has a good location and is well furnished inside. However, it seems like they need a new cook.

We tried for good Chinese food everywhere. This place is the best the city offers.

4.8! Coming from the south, the Orient Restaurant has one of Kelowna 's most 'seasoned ' house special fried rice dishes we 've had since moving here. Something about comfort food ? We ate it (inhaled while standing) straight out of the box!!! The left overs will be even better tomorrow! The prices are reasonable and the food was delightfully enjoyable!!! LOTS OF FOOD in the fried platter!!! Grab take out and eat it in the park ? photos are leftovers! sneaks away to hide left overs in hummus bowl that the rest of the house avoides!!!?
