Big White Ski Resort - Kelowna

The atmosphere is lovely in the summer. The seating is quite affordable at $15 per person, and there's a lot of fun to be had!

We visited in July and found the scenery to be absolutely stunning, despite encountering some typical hailstorms and thunder during our trip—something I actually found quite impressive. The atmosphere was tranquil, with few visitors around, making it even more beautiful. However, it was a bit disappointing that most places seemed closed on the Sunday of our visit.

If you're an early bird, I recommend purchasing your tickets online, as the ticket office tends to be quite busy when it opens. The QR code day pass pickup process is efficient. Just a heads up about some pesky critters at the summit: there's a chance of encountering horse flies, biting Asian beetles (they resemble ladybugs), and mosquitoes. Despite the bugs, hiking to the top is definitely worth it. My experience with being nibbled on by these insects at Big White was unique, but I still highly recommend visiting the summit any time of the year.

We were so impressed when we visited a couple of years ago that we decided to buy a place here, and even our kids prefer it to the resorts closer to Vancouver. When you're not hitting the slopes, the area has excellent restaurants and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. There's plenty to do, including tubing, hiking, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling, all right on the hill. Additionally, the resort is just a 45-minute drive from Kelowna International Airport, as well as the city itself, which boasts about a million wineries. In the summer, there's also fantastic mountain biking that is improving each season. I highly recommend this place if you're seeking a ski or biking getaway.

This is a fantastic summer destination! The dog-friendly patios are a nice touch, and we were thrilled to be able to take our dog on the chairlift with us. They paused the lift for both loading and unloading, which made the experience smooth. We hiked the 4.5 km trail back down, which was enjoyable as well.
