Detour - Kaufman

Burgers and ice cream are fantastic. The fries leave a bit to be desired. They were hot but in no way crisp and lacked seasoning even though advertised as black pepper and sea salt seasoned. I will definitely be back for the Burgers as the Detour Burger was put together just they way I think a burger should be. The ice cream is delicious but super rich so be ready for the real deal. Finally the sweet tea is majorly sweet even for this southern style tea drinker.

Best burger ever! Super nice people! Well worth the detour off the highway!

The Detour with cheddar came with just a wilted piece of lettuce, a couple of slices of red onion, and it looked like it had been thrown together carelessly—quite a mess. The bottom bun was soaked in grease and what I assume was meat juice, making it nearly impossible to hold onto the burger, so I ended up discarding it along with the wilted lettuce. The second burger was also hastily assembled, but at least it didn't have a soggy bottom. Nonetheless, it was still very greasy. As for the float, it wasn’t impressive; it consisted of a small scoop of ice cream drowned in root beer. Overall, we’ve decided to skip this place in the future. There are better burgers just down the street, and it's really not that hard to make a good burger with nice presentation. There are too many other great options in town to consider coming back here.

Our burgers were good. Our fries were soggy. The ladies were nice. I decided I wanted ice cream after we ate. I knocked on the front window and looked inside. I saw a girl with a dark bob haircut scraping something out of a big silver bowl. She then went on to lick her fingers. I was so disgusted that I left. I will not be back.
