Vee's Cafe - Katoomba

My wife and I called in here for lunch after spending an entire morning at Scenic World; the service was amazing, though the heaters were a bit hot where we were sitting. We ordered the Marinated steak sandwich, my wife was disappointed in the presentation and found the meal difficult to eat as a whole burger (Steak was cut up in small pieces we think it should be a whole piece of steak) We were not asked how we wanted the steak cooked, It was rather chewy and over cooked. The menu says a sandwich and it came out as a burger. We thought it was a little pricey in comparison to other places we have been for what you get. overall it was a reasonable experience.

Conveniently located on the main strip of Katoomba town, this may look like an ordinary cafe. This is quite deceiving indeed. Being a vegetarian, there is usually not many options around especially on a mountain. :) This is the second time we have bought from here and we have been blown away by the service and taste of their servings, even for my non-vegetarian partner. I ordered a toasted focaccia sandwich called "vege stack", it was simply the best toasted sandwich that I have ever eaten. It is a good portion with a great variety of selection like haloumi cheese, mushroom, rocket salad, sun-dried tomatoes, feta cheese etc. My partner ordered spinach-and-cheese gozleme, and it was really cheesy and yummy. She was adamant that it was the best gozleme that she has had. And yes, we do eat Turkish gozleme's a lot. :) Their coffee was great too! Considering its location on the mountain, the price range feels just right or at most a wee-bit on the high side.Even though it is not a fine dining place with an amazing interior decor, I would gladly recommend this place to anyone.

Came here for a big breakfast the morning after the night before! I thought it a little expensive at $20 but it certainly helped with the hangover and didn't disappoint.

Saturday morning in Katoomba, raining, very wet and very cold! Such a nice feeling to slide open the door to feel, energy & warmth, be greeted with good humour and fabulous service. The place was packed, lots of yummy food on tables with two young guys running the place. Great breakfast menu for us to choose from, as was the lunch menu, smoothies and fresh juices as well great coffee. Vee's cafe is a little secret tucked away down the bottom end of the main street in Katoomba. Thank you you made two very wet and cold customers very happy!

Missed our order at the motel for breakfast so headed out early in the morning for a meal before a day out at Scenic World. We drove into Katoomba centre and found a free undercover park at Woollies. Just down a lane way and into the Main Street we found Vee's. Great friendly staff, absolutely fabulous coffee and a yummy cooked breakfast to die for. One of us (me) would have liked the front door shut, but nobody else seemed to agree!They sell their packaged coffee beans whole or ready ground. All roasted on the premises.Definitely having another breakfast there before we leave Katoomba. Yum-o.
