Strandkanten - Karlskoga

Strandkanten is located on Karlskoga lake, Möckeln, in a very picturesque location. The restaurant has the same style of the nearby hotel, a bit shabby chic, but elegant and cosy. I remember the dinner to be very worthy, even if a bit pricey, with a great atmosphere, nice food and an impeccable service. It was a great evening and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants to have a special moment eating well prepared food.

Unbelievably good restaurant on the road between Oslo, Norway and Stockholm, Sweden! Right on the water, with gorgeous views (normally a sign the food will be disappointing , indulgent service, and nothing even approaching disappointing! “Authentic Swedish Countryside Cuisine”? ABSOLUTELY! None of the Menu is in English (thank you online translator! , but ALL of the Meny delivers as promised! I doubt I will ever be lucky enough to be back in this part of the gorgeous Swedish Countryside, but with the quaint Hotel right next to the Strandkanten restaurant, who knows? Maybe I will make a. Special Trip to spend a long weekend here eating, drinking, and staring at the bucolic scenery. Now THAT would be lucky indeed!

The food is fabulous, sadly this is let down by the **** service.. The waiter finds his mobile phone more important than the customers.. He has no idea want is expected from a waiter, the food is delivered to the table as if you were eating at MacDonalds', the wine is just left on the table for you to serve yourself, and asking for a wine cooler is just too much effort. We paid 1760kr for a meal for two, so you would expect some kind of service. What a shame, as the actual food was superb, but ruined by total lack of sevice.

High class cooking, cosy a la carte restaurant, beautiful surroundings and very friendly staff. More than we aspected from this deserted town outside Karlstad/Örebro.

Had dinner here tonight. Great burger and excellent service. Overall experience was more than expected from Karlskoga!
