Staroměstská Restaurace - Karlin

This restaurant near the old town square is a great spot for a good meal. We decided to sit outside, despite the freezing weather, in order to take in the view of the bustling Christmas market. The staff was prompt in serving us and taking our orders. Our drinks, beer and mulled wine, were served within 5 minutes and our food arrived in 15 minutes. The restaurant, both indoors and outdoors, was packed with patrons. We ordered the pork ribs and the old fashioned Bohemia pork. The pork ribs were some of the best I have ever had - perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy. The side dishes of cabbage, beetroot and radish salad, and horseradish sauce complemented the ribs well. The portion size of 3 large ribs (600g) was very filling. The old fashioned Bohemia pork, grilled pork strips served with the same sides, was tasty but slightly tough. I highly recommend the pork ribs. If you choose to sit indoors, the prices are 50% lower.

The atmosphere is nice, spacious restaurant. The waiters are quite attentive and friendly. We went as a group to taste Czech cuisine and everyone was satisfied. I highly recommend the goulash soup in bread. Also, for the main course, there was steak-like meat in vegetable sauce with jam and whipped cream on the side. It was served with white bread. It is a traditional Czech dish, it didn't suit our taste but I recommend it for those who want to try different flavors. The prices were reasonable despite being in a touristy area.

Classic Czech restaurant right on the Old Town Square! That's how it should be: I have been here twice with foreign visitors and they were always satisfied. We had duck, perfectly roasted, just as it should be. The only problem for me is the local hustle and chaos, but this is a local tax for tourist overload.
