Martin's Bistro - Karlin

This very pleasant small restaurant with home-cooked food was also very good. The service was friendly, we didn't wait long for anything, a pleasant place for dinner or just a drink.

The best place for a good drink, meal, or glass of wine on the border of Vinohrady and Žižkov. Homemade cuisine, everything is top-notch from start to finish. Worth trying.

The place doesn t look any special from outside but the food and drinks are great! The wine was very tasty. Not yet known that much in the area but really worth the visit...

Nice ambiance, just very small. The food here is very tasty, I was only not satisfied once, but it's quite possible that I ordered something that my taste buds had not encountered before.

The service here is excellent. The décor is quite nice and comfy . The prices for wine are roughly twice what I would expect and so quoted in 1 decilitre instead of 2 dcl. They have a nice selection of wines available, but the prices are just over the top for a lunch place. The food is quite good, but the portions are quite small (value for money is probably their key weakness . It is fine if you are dropping in for a bite to eat, but it is not a good place to go if you are hungry. You will end up buying two entrées to be full. Another issue is the menu they have a few items to choose from and at 12 two of the meals were not yet ready, so in fact you had three choices or a wait of circa 45 minutes for the others to be ready. I could understand that at 11 AM when they had just opened, but by 12 I would expect them to be in full swing. In a similar vein, some people had decided to sit alone at tables for 6 people. So as the lunch crowd (apparently regulars from surrounding shops? came in, they were often sitting cheek by jowl to avoid having to sit with these strangers. Maybe she was waiting for friends to join her, but we were there for 90 minutes and they had not arrived in that time.I suppose it is a great neighbourhood place for a quick drink in the evening with a friend, but it is not a place to linger.
