Bidrage med feedbackWe visited this restaurant due to the great reviews and expected above-average eating with some twists. the dishes on the menu sound great, the location was beautiful (we sat in an in-house, a kind of beer garden) and the service was friendly. everything started...fine and they even had a Belgian beer on the drink card. when it came to eat, unfortunately our satisfaction went back more and more. my starter, a carpaccio on a typical German/Hessenwurst, was apparently not freshly cut but already bought in slices that made the taste very industrial. for the recipe of this plate I can not give more than 1 of 5 points. it was just not good. as a main dish our ladies had ordered the burger with salmon and lemon mayonaise. both of their axes are very oversalted. almost impossible. it looked interesting, especially the black coloured brot and the whole recipe sound good. but if it doesn't taste good, the whole court is wasted money. I ordered an original white carving, with extra mushroom sauce. the sauce tasted good, but the carving was burned one-sided, and if I paid almost 20 eur for a carving, the sauce must come in a separate bowl. I cannot recommend this restaurant and hope that only her normal chef was celebrated. otherwise I can't explain all these reviews?
This is a must to see the restaurant if you want to taste a German food. as the owners described it to us, this restaurant is over 100 years old and they took over about 4 years ago. Since then they brought it to the 21st century. eating is delicious. it is a good mix of local food with a hauch of international ideas. as they have to try when they visit, the eppelwoi (ca. wein.) as regards eating, there is much to choose. be sure whatever they choose, they will not be disappointed. I had the burger. to say it's huge, would be an understatement. it's so big, you can't take a bite. but it is deeeeelicouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuusss. So if they're looking for a place where they can have a nice evening than that is.
We went with a party of four, plus two dogs, and since I hadn't mentioned the dogs when we made the reservation, we were not sure if this was in order, but it turned out surprisingly well. soon after we were on our table, the dogs were offered water and some snacks. that was pure luxury for them. Two of us had appetizers, delivered immediately and made beautiful, and the most important courses were simply delicious. we will certainly come back and enjoy the hospitality and very good service.
The food at Hock's would be considered exceptional by any standard. If you travel anywhere within 100 kilometers you owe it to yourself to eat there. We had a fairly large group and shared our entrees. The pork and red cabbage was a phenomenal dish,...the schnitzel and steak were equally amazing. I'm considering moving to Okarben from the US so that I can eat every meal there :
We are always happy to be able to start the weekend in hocks on Friday evening. With great table neighbors and the best rumpsteaks and bark fillets wide and wide. never empty glasses, very goodbye. by Friday at the latest.
