Rosedale B-q - Kansas City

I and my daughter came here after a busy day in union station and crown center for birthday dinner. the location was cozy....near our hotel right in front of i35. the food was very good and the people were very friendly. I tried many bbq places in kc and that was one I missed. highly recommended!

A favorite of mine for 40yrs. Seating has been rearranged for social distancing or of course carry out. Really busy at lunchtime but the counter staff gets your order ready really quickly. Enjoy.

Good service. Good food. Hearty portions. I would encourage you to share. They are kind and will provide a paper plate or two for this. Enjoyed the sausage and the beans. The coleslaw was ok. The beef was fine. Loved the bread too. They treated some out of town Bills fans well.

I have loved this restaurant for literally decades! Since before the old location burned down and they moved next door. So when I finally got out of the hospital from visiting my elderly mother, I went to Rosedale to eat lunch. I walked to the door at a little before 2:00 PM. There was an older couple in front of me ordering. It was the gentleman's birthday (they announced0 and they took their sweet time deciding what they wanted. I watched two other people order theirs at the other end. They finally got their order placed and paid. The woman stood there blocking the window, not willing to budge and inch to allow me to order. The young woman behind the counter could have easily asked her to allow the next customer to come to the window and order, but didn't bother. After standing there a total of around 4 minutes, the other side was clear, so I went to the other end to place my order. When I got down there, the server/cashier from the other end I just waited at came down to talk to the other young woman. I stood at that window for over a minute while they talked and neither one would even acknowledge I was waiting to order! What does it take it say I'll be with you in a minute'? It was VERY clear they did NOT want my business, and I have never seen either server/cashier before. So unless Rosedalle BBQ has a new un-posted policy of waiting until a customer's order is delivered before they will even take the next order, this was totally unacceptable! I commented to the guy standing in the correct place to wait for your food order, instead of blocking the order line, that they must not want me to eat here today as I walked out. I left very hungry (diabetes and over time on needing food) and truly saddened that the restaurant that has been one of my favorites for over the past 55 years, wouldn't give me the time of day as a customer! I rated terrible on all three areas, but because of NO service, I was not able to taste the food or judge value, which is usually very good...
