Walk-in carry-out only fried chicken. Gizzards are a must! Chicken could have used more flavor.

This is my go-to for fast food fried chicken. It’s way better than KFC, and it’s local. The restaurant on 7th is my usual spot, though I’ve been to the locations on Shawnee Drive and State Avenue as well. The food is everything I want from the fried chicken experience, from the chicken itself to the buttery rolls to the almost fluorescent gravy on the mashed potatoes. Service is prompt and courteous. I’ve been here often enough that I’ve caught the place on an off day now and then, so I’ve ended up with some incorrect orders and broken pieces. Once I even got one with some pinfeathers still attached. But those are isolated incidents rather than the typical experience. For quintessential KC chicken to go, look no further.

Their food has always been good. I was on a budget and was able to get gizzards for less than $7 or $8. It was fresh and hot. I love their Go sauce! It just makes life complete! I have never had any issues with this location at all, ever! This is one of my Favs of KC
