Hatsuki Sushi - Kamloops

Waited forever for sushi go to order part of it when it some more later came back said would you like to order more we said we did not receive my order so

Went to this place tonight in an attempt to satisfy my sushi cravingsEnded up ordering the Bento Box C.

My husband wanted to give Hatsuki another chance after a couple bad experiences. We try to support businesses in North Kamloops as much as possible. We had been given gift cards from an elderly relative so decided it would be a good time to try again. When we arrived, the restaurant was devoid of any customers however the table we were seated at was sticky. We were enjoying our meal, with my view being that of the sushi chef and the waitress. Just after eating our first round, I saw the chef picking his nose and rolling it in his fingers which of course turned my stomach. He also was playing with his phone. As lots of people nowadays take their phone into the washroom with them, I found this to be very disgusting. I kept an eye on the chef to see if he left to wash his hands. I cant say for sure, but I did NOT see him leave or wash his hands at the station. My meal was ruined. My husband and brother did not see it and apparently have less standards than I so they decided to order once more. When we attempted to use the gc's we were given we were told that one of them was not a gc but a promo card. They were identical but one had the stipulation that you had to order off the menu which we did not notice. We were told that we were not allowed to use it and could use it at another time. I informed the owner of the problems we had and that we would not be back. Instead of trying to make it right he laughed in my face and told me he would call the cops which prompted my husband to pull out his phone to call them himself. No business in their right mind would offer promo cards that look identical to gift cards unless they want to confuse their customers. It was very embarrassing and a total reflection of what I've come to expect from this sad sushi restaurant. Unfortunately to post my review, I must give them one very undeserving star.

Stopped here for the All-You-Can-Eat as someone who hasn't tried much sushi. I really enjoyed the Crazy Boy roll and will be back to have that again! It wasn't the best I've ever tried, but it was good. I would go back. If they were to do a buffet-style AYCE I would absolutely go back in a heartbeat so I can try more things without having to order a whole roll of each.

Good sushi. Our favorite stand by. Close to home. Very fresh & tastey. My husband loves dynamite rolls. I tried a mango roll, sweet but mouth watering. Sort of like a dessert.
