Bidrage med feedbackDelightful. Fresh ingredients/freshly prepared and homemade taste. Caring service (as opposed to indifferent). To keep this is a balanced review, consider offering club soda as an option. A small side of pico de gallo with the tacos would also be tasty.
Customer service sucks! They apparently called me to ask if I wanted any sauces instead of just including some. We called them back 10 minutes later and they would not answer the phone, then I called from another phone number and they answered right away. Got family size potato taquitos for over $30 supposed to come with 6 ounces of salsa didn’t include it. They never answer the phone again ignored our phone calls. If your order is messed up they ignore your calls. Overpriced for awful customer service the girl who answered was rude af. It’s a shame cause the food was decent except for dry taqutios with no dipping sauce. The food was overpriced though.
The best woman-owned Oaxacan restaurant in East Hollywood! Laura is a very welcoming energy as soon as you step in, which adds to the intimate and familiar ambiance of home at Tlayuda. I highly recommend the chicken burrito but honestly nothing on the menu misses- it’s all so so good! I’m a sucker for an Agua Fresca, so also highly rec. You won’t regret spending time at Tlayuda.
I have had the opportunity to visit Oaxaca, Mexico. In fact, my father is originally from that state, I had the opportunity to visit one season and try many of his best-known dishes and this memela fell short in everything from the flavor of the dough (which I will not judge harshly, especially if it is maseca and not mill dough, that is understood) the famous jerky I suppose is originally from but, it did not even have salt, and even more importantly they do not use sentadillo (which is a lard base, and if they use they did not ask if I wanted it or not) and finally But less importantly the bean, the Oaxacan bean is characterized by the use of the avocado leaf which gives it a completely different flavor than normal and I was missing something even more important, they did not use cheese. This restaurant for me did not have what it took to be considered traditional and the prices were exorbitantly overpriced. Definitely not one of my choices.
A pleasant surprise! I cannot remember the last time I had a carne asada burrito that was so delicious! I will be back for the tlayuda, my friend had one, it looked so good and she loved it! My sincere thanks to the courteous staff!
