Bidrage med feedbackMy family and I have been coming here for years. The tortillas for flautas are excellent. They cook quickly and have a great taste. They have an assortment of spices and chilies.
I found this place because the Presidente and El Chaparral restaurant menus listed them as their tortilla supplier. Consequently, this is not a restaurant, but an office with basically five types of items for sale frozen tamales by the dozen, masa, dried corn husks (Has anyone shucked corn with husks as big as those found on a tamale? , corn and flour tortillas, and tortilla chips. Although it looks like a discount outlet, the tamales are no longer factory priced where a dozen was $18 in 2015 but is now $27. Previously cash only but they now accept credit cards. The building entrance says both Graciana Tortilla Factory and Graciana Tamale Factory but it 's all one place. Using the names of both businesses as a guide, I 've tried their tortillas and tamales. The flour tortillas were pressed very thin and light. The corn tortillas smelled nice, but were light on corn flavor and rubbery. The tamales weren 't the overloaded frozen versions found at most farmers ' markets, but sized like a restaurant tamale that fits in most home kitchen steamers. The classic size also meant the right balance of masa to filling. On the plainer side, adding condiments or sauces helps the experience. The tamales use a different masa recipe depending on the filling like the pork tamale had a heartier mixture while the chicken version was lighter and fluffier. All masa avoided gumminess (my typical gripe of most tamales or being too crumbly. The pork tamale and chicken tamale were both mixed with a red colored seasoning but was still mild. The tamale with cheese and green chilies was moderately spicy.
Family owned business servings take out orders only or walk ups for hot torillas hecho de mano style. They also make tamales beef or pork for tae out and walkin orders.
I super love the chile rellenos. They come frozen in a pack of 12. So you just prepare them how you like at home. I usually do a red sauce then add nopales. I also love the yellow tortillas, but they don't always have them. They have added an herbs and spices section which is nice.
So I went there today because I had always used Guerrero Tortillas but for some reason the last month or so the tortillas were not coming out good and to many broken I make potatoes fry tacos for sale and I really was having lots of problem When I got there the lady in cash register recommended the tortillas for chips DAY AND NIGHT Super good they are crispier they don't brake for sure I will be back every Froday
