Bidrage med feedbackOur family had a wonderful experience at Dreux's ... The food was true Louisiana cuisine!
This place is so good! We got the catfish, a hot link po boy, the burger and the jambalaya and everyone was super happy with their meal. Definitely recommend!
My daughter and I had a wonderful and personable experience at Dreux’s! The food was just like I like it, authentic! The pork chops were well seasoned and the red beans and rice full of flavor as well. My daughter enjoyed the fried fish and shrimp which had that perfect batter for the crunch lovers. These are family recipes so we knew this was our type of spot! The owner will be head chef tonight so we are going back because I need to get my hands on that cajun jambalaya!!!
Stay away! This place was absolutely awful!!! The food is probably some of the worst I've ever had, no exaggeration. Check out the pics. Although some of the pics of the food may look good, trust me, they're not. The Gumbo was so fishy and disgusting. The dish looked and tasted like, absolutely zero effort was put into making it. It contained a small pathetic crab leg which tasted fishy, might explain why the whole dish tasted that way. The shrimp was mushy and the gumbo barely had any rice. Absolutely gross ! The fried catfish looked good and we were pretty excited to try it, hoping this would make up for the awful Gumbo. Unfortunately, the batter was so salty you couldn't eat it. Tasted like someone spilled an entire container of salt on it. The Mac and cheese was bland. I had to add Louisiana hot sauce to give it some flavor. The shrimp and grits, were the worst I've ever had. The grits were so clumpy and flavorless. The shrimp was fishy and the sauce/seasoning did not cover up the fishy taste, in fact it made it worse. Service was bad too. I felt kind of bad for our waitress because she seemed nice and like she needed the job. But she was very slow and wasn't very attentive, almost like she didn't care or didn't know what she was doing. Weird! Like I said in the beginning, stay away from this place. Save your time and money (was expensive for the garbage we were served). Being that it's so close to UCLA, might be a good place for a bunch of drunk college students to eat!
I was looking forward to dinner from here this evening, but not worth the price I paid. I ordered the Jambalaya w/ dinner rollS for $21. It came with a roll, not rolls. It had a couple of strips of different colored bell peppers, THREE small shrimps and chicken that appeared to be a chopped up chicken thigh. The pasta was alright, but a bit dry. The roll was good. Nice and soft and a bit sweet, like a King's Hawaiian roll. I also ordered a slice of sweet potato pie and was given a slice of dry lemon cake that isn't even on the menu. I really wanted to like this place, but surely I am disappointed for the amount of money I paid for it. For $21 just for the jambalaya I'd expect more than 3 measly pieces of shrimp.
