Founded in 1945, a few miles East, down the 134, in Glendale, California, Irv and Burt 's ' ice cream parlor became the world 's largest chain of ice cream shops. In the late 40s it was possible to grab a McDonald 's burger at the original stand in San Bernardino, California and have dessert at the original Baskin-Robbins, just sixty miles apart. Mc 's burger and Coke sets you back 20¢. BR 's single scoop cone costs 5¢; two scoops a dime. The Encino, California shop is cool fun, staying true to Baskin-Robbins ' mid-century, soda fountain values. Most of their flavors and toppings are old school, although a few are unique. The servers are knowledgeable, friendly, offering free samples of the displayed thirty-six flavors. Vegan sorbets and ice creams are available. Prepared quarts are offered in several flavors, along with many creatively decorated ice cream cakes. You can grab a seat inside and watch the soda jerks decorate an ice cream cake, stack scoops on a chocolate dipped cone, blend a soda, or assemble a sundae. On the other hand, just sit outside and people watch on the patio. Just like in 1945.The gender-neutral bathroom and shop are wheelchair accessible. However, there is a low curb from the busy, free parking lot into Baskin-Robbins ' entrance. Baskin-Robbins was co-founded by brothers-in-law Irvine “Irv” Robbins and Burton “Burt” Baskin. There are approximately 6,000 Baskin-Robbins ' shops, world-wide.
Friendly service. Cost of cakes have risen dramatically.
This spot is one of my favorites I love bringing my kids here and I'm pretty sure they love it as well. I tried their ice blended coffee today it was great. I also buy all our birthday cakes here, they have a very large selection for their ice cream cakes with plenty of designs to choose from! I definitely recommend this place ?
