Maestro's Pizza - Kalamazoo

This has become our favorite pizza place in the area. The pizza is consistently good, which is hard to find around here where many places can be hit or miss. We often order takeout, but I really enjoy sitting at the bar. The staff is fantastic and always attentive. There are plenty of regular customers, creating a great atmosphere, and they occasionally host live music, which adds to the experience.

I returned for dinner and a drink, but I was feeling a bit overwhelmed after eating too much pizza. I decided to try the Chicken Club, and I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was. The roll was fresh, the deli meats were high quality, and the tomatoes were fresh and flavorful. I added cheddar cheese and a side of ranch, and I would definitely order this sandwich again. Upon entering the lobby on what was expected to be a busy Saturday evening, I was surprised to see only about five occupied tables and a moderately busy bar area. Despite this, I decided to give the restaurant a try and was seated promptly. I ordered a beer, which arrived in a large, chilled mug—a nice touch. The menu had some interesting options, and I opted for a sandwich that I wouldn't typically choose. However, I was less than impressed with the quality. It seemed as though the kitchen had just thrown everything together without much attention to presentation. While the flavor was acceptable, it didn't stand out. I even mentioned to the waitress that there was a disappointing lack of bacon, as there was just one measly strip on the sandwich. Unfortunately, I never received any additional bacon and was charged for it, which was quite frustrating.

This was referred to us by a friend and they specifically suggested the smoked wings. We ordered pickup on a Friday evening for the first time. We had no idea it was also a bar. As soon as I walked in I was able to recognize a few familiar faces. Most people around knew the owners. There was a line of people on hallway to the restrooms which was the pickup-order-line. The wait was ridiculous. But I dayum sure will be coming back for more!!! Also, there are plenty parking spots for you in the semi-plaza. The bar is relatively small and crowded. Be prepared to shoulder bang as you walk-in to sit/pickup. Servers were good but the service was okay... We were told to expect a 30-45min wait, but was checked out with the food over an hour.

Love this place!! I've only noticed it a few months ago but each time I go I have had a great experience. Service is top notch and the food is amazing! Price is a little higher but you can definitely tell in the quality.
