The Top Shop - Kaikoura

We've been ordering takeout hotdogs and chips for the past two years, and we absolutely love the hotdogs—they're amazing! However, the business has recently changed ownership, and they are now closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

I ordered the blue cod burger, and it was hands down the freshest blue cod I’ve ever had from a takeaway. It tasted absolutely delicious, and there was a generous portion of fish as well!

Great service, lovely guys, even suggested we try chicken salt on it for free which was really tasty! Sadly they were out of blue cod but they're popular for a reason. Best to get fish here as there's only one shop in town and there's always a queue for that. Also this has great opening hours (see photo).

The fish portions were tiny, and the scoops of chips were also very small! I spent nearly $40 for four pieces of fish and two scoops, which was probably sufficient for only two people, not a family of five. The taste was good, but the serving size and overall value just weren't satisfactory. Service: Takeout; Meal type: Dinner; Food rating: 3.
