Bidrage med feedbackThis restaurant is a beloved fixture in Juneau. The floor is covered in sawdust, which gives it an authentic feel reminiscent of the 1800s, as if you've stepped into a local saloon. It was bustling when we arrived, but we easily found a seat, and there was a local musician providing entertainment. I ordered a local beer, a reindeer sandwich, and eventually tried their famous Duck Fart Shots. The reindeer sandwich was outstanding, as were the shots. Our waitress was friendly, and the service was excellent.
We enjoyed some drinks at this establishment, which is a beloved tradition in Juneau. The atmosphere features sawdust on the floor, a live singer performing, and waitresses dressed in charming late 1800s-style attire reminiscent of women from that era.
This is a fantastic bar to visit if you're in the city. It's always bustling with cruise ship passengers, and the decor is truly unique.
Great place to stop in for some draft beer and quick bites when in downtown Juneau We were in Juneau for the day, coming in on the Norwegian Encore during the last week of the season. The ship docked around 2:30 pm, and after walking around the port, we stopped in. A lot of the restaurants in the area had already closed for the season, but Red Dog was open and very busy. You can see its sign as soon as you exit the boat. There was no wait, and we seated ourselves. We found a small half oval table in the middle, and a very pleasant server came by to take our drink order. All the waitresses was in red saloon sweetie outfits, and the bar had brought enough staff for the expected onslaught of the tourists us included). The floor is covered in sawdust. It has a very interesting history, as long as Juneau being a mining and later tour boats) town. two draft beers in pint glasses $7.50): Red Dog Red a solid Irish Red, reminding me of Killian's red. Alaskan Kolsch very easy to drink, but wish it had more body. Petersburg Pretzels $12.95) 3 medium sized pretzels, most likely made from frozen, but was very, very good. It came with a big tub of beer cheese, and we had plenty of it left over even though we were liberal in using it to dunk our pretzels. Would get this again everytime even for the price. Yakobi smoked chowder $8.95) very thick, strongly flavored chowder with large pieces of smoked salmon and big potato chunks.
Cool atmosphere but definitely for the tourists/cruisers. Brisket French Dip was dry, Pizza was awesome!
