Heritage Coffee Co Cafe - Juneau

The espresso served here is truly exceptional. Each sip of this bold and invigorating brew awakens the soul. The crema, a golden layer atop the espresso, showcases the barista's skill beautifully. Additionally, I was treated to their amazing hot chocolate. This was no ordinary hot cocoa; it was a rich, velvety concoction that felt like a warm hug from a long-lost friend. The depth of flavor from the cocoa beans was divine, creating an indulgent experience unlike any other.

My partner and I came here to visit from a cruise. We were super excited to try this place. We ordered a chai a matcha latte w vanilla and cinnamon and a blueberry scone. The scone wasnt flavorful and a bit dry which was ok, buutttt when it came to the drinks we werw very disappointed. The chai was decent but the matcha latte was gross : i nicely asked the supervisor or manager there if I could please change my drink the to chai that my partner had. She said NO. We would have to charge you, unless there is something wrong with the drink. I kindly told her, Yes, sorry but it doesn 't taste good at all, could i at least get some more vanilla added into it? Becausei cant even taste any vanilla. She just said, sorry id have to charge you for a whole new drink, gave me an ugly look and said we have sugar in the back if you want to add some. I have never ever had customer service like that in a coffee place, especially as a traveler from somewhere else. Usually customer service wise a place will gladly swap a drink if its awful. Which it was. So I just got up, put my drink on the countee and said it was gross, pleaae throw it away for me and left. I wouldn 't ever recommend this place. If you are visiting Alaska, go somewhere else.

I was a customer at this coffee shop multiple times a day the last few days, after yesterday I am disgusted I gave these people my money. The coffee is good but I highly recommend walking a bit further to The Rookery or Coppa where BOTH coffee service is excellent. The service at this shop was efficiency only. Yesterday, my husband waited in line to order us coffees. Right when he got to the counter, the cashier walked away shouted cafe closed didn’t take anymore orders. It would have been really nice to know we wouldn’t be served before waiting in line 15 minutes. Beyond inconsiderate given there was no signage or communication saying they would be closing 2 hours early. There were quite a few other people in line as well. I made the mistake of overlooking the subpar service for convenience but will be giving my to other businesses in the area that don’t treat customers like trash.

At the counter, I specifically ordered two Coffee Toffees and even pointed it out on the board. After a lengthy wait, I was surprised to receive a Pink Strawberry Milkshake instead. I approached one of the staff members to explain the mix-up, but she was quite rude and insisted that was what I had ordered. Eventually, she told me she would make my Coffee Toffee, but it would take some time, and I agreed to wait since I had specifically come back for that flavor. However, as the line grew longer, she changed her story, claiming that the Coffee Toffee flavor didn’t exist at all. I questioned why it was displayed on the board and pointed out that I had ordered it just last week without any issues. Unfortunately, she refused to listen and seemed to be lying, showing no willingness to help. The worst part was that she initially made me wait, only to later deny the flavor’s availability. Not wanting to argue any further with the young staff, I decided to walk away. To top it all off, they didn’t automatically give me a receipt, which I had to request after a wait. This whole situation felt like bullying, simply because I was a tourist. Overall, my experience at Heritage Coffee Roasting was quite negative, and it truly marred my day.

I stopped by this café for a quick coffee before heading to the airport. Unfortunately, the display case was mostly empty. Without a doubt, this was the slowest coffee service I've ever experienced anywhere. While the clerk at the register was working quickly, the barista seemed more interested in texting, staring at the ceiling, and chatting with people in the back than preparing orders. Once they finally completed the drinks, they just placed them on the counter without labeling them, which left several of us waiting while our drinks cooled down. On the positive side, the coffee was good, but it definitely wasn’t worth the 25-minute wait for a latte.
