They never acknowledged we were there even though they looked directly at us and walked past is taking food out to the dining area. Their loss... won't darken their door again.
We stop at DQ whenever we drive through here going to San Angelo Texas and returning to San Antonio Texas. Sometimes for ice cream and/or a dilly bar but sometimes for a burger meal or chicken strips. Food is excellent. Service is usually great even when they busy. On this visit through the drive thru we asked for Bacon Cheese Burger Combo along with the Chicken Strips Combo and a Chocolate Sundae so we could eat while charging our car across the highway. Well after we are already hooked up, we decided to eat our food. I started eating my half of the burger and I noticed it didn’t taste as good as it usually does. My daughter started eating hers a few minutes later. She said they didn’t put any cheese or bacon as I said hey there’s no cheese or…. Lol. We both were upset because she really wanted it. And I was cheating by eating the two extra ingredients. I thought it tasted weird so I stopped eating it and put it in back in the bag. Well she took a couple of bites but couldn’t finish it because she really wanted the other ingredients. She also crumbled it up and put it in the bag. After we talked about we both got annoyed and started calling the DQ. I called twice. Then she called three. Then I did again. No answer then after so many rings it would go to voicemail stating mailbox was full. We returned to DQ after charging and told the lady in the drive through about what occurred. She had a man talk to us and he said he would give us bacon and cheese to put on our burger. So I said. “You’re going to give me a slice of bacon and cheese to put on my cold burger. And he replied yes since it’s been so long that you picked up your order. The lady came back on the intercom and said pull up to drive thru window and we will take care of it. When we got up there after waiting on the customer in front of us. She asked where our burger was so we told her well we did take a couple of bites but we crumpled it up. I tossed my part but my daughter had crumpled hers up and she was looking for it. We witnessed tell someone that they tossed the burger. Then she says she can’t make it since there’s no proof. It was ridiculous. She could see we were upset. Espeicallly when we again stated to her “you want to see our crumpled up burger?” She got all huffy brought a bag and basically swung it over the window to my daughter saying “here’s your burger!” So unnecessary. No civility.
Dairy Queen is one of my favorite things about Texas (They have a different menu than the ones in other states), but they usually have poor service and/or they are dirty. This Dairy Queen is one of the cleanest we’ve been to in any state and the service we received here was fantastic.
FOOD POISONING...Ate here yesterday while traveling for the 4th. The food seemed off tasting but regrettably I ate it, so did my daughter. About an 30 minutes after eating it I felt very bloated. Within an hour we were on the side of the road both of us, like simultaneously. We finished our 4 hour trip with a few more stops and were both sick all night. Thanks DQ for a great trip and 4th of July I really appreciate it.
Waited 30 minutes, just to get a cold burger and burnt jalitos.
