Location: Movie set of "Fried Green Tomatoes" Meal Type: Lunch Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 The Whistle Stop Cafe in Juliette, GA, is a delightful dining experience reminiscent of a movie set, specifically from "Fried Green Tomatoes." Everything about this place is charming—from the delicious food to the warm service and inviting atmosphere. I had an outstanding lunch, and I can't recommend it highly enough!
After registering at the restaurant, I asked a couple leaving how long the wait was. The guy told me it was 2.5 hours, and I thought he was joking. Turns out he wasn't! I spent some time visiting a couple of shops and then sat across the street from the restaurant because of the crowded waiting area. Every few minutes, someone would come out and call names. When we finally got inside, I was amazed by how hard the staff was working. Overall, I'd rate the food 5/5, the service 5/5, and the atmosphere 5/5.
We recently stopped at this restaurant on our way to Florida for vacation, hoping to take our son-in-law there for the first time. I must say, we don't treat tourists like this in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. Locals have to wait just as long as visitors to get a table. After sitting on the porch for an hour and a half, shivering and watching locals get priority service, we won't be returning. The same goes for the service overall.
Absolutely love this place
