Stopped while on a day trip to the desert to see the desert flower bloom. Fantastic sandwiches. I had the pastrami and sauerkraut. Half a sandwich filled me for now... Saving the second half for after I trek up and down some hills! Did NOT skimp on anything. Toasted fresh rolls. You cannot go wrong if you stop in here. I know the pie and apple places are alluring but I'm really glad I did this.

I live in Borrego and took a drive up to Julian just to go to Fat Anthony's for lunch. Really cute place with Italian music playing outside. Anthony and his staff are very welcoming and super sweet. Their sandwiches are huge. I got a 6 inch Big Meano and they have tons of toppings to add. I made two meals out of it! I also bought a couple of his parfait cheesecake cups. I had the lemon and the mixed berry. They were so delicious.He had a steady stream of customers and lots of things to pick from to feed your belly. Prices were extremely reasonable for the amount of food you get. I would definitely return to Fat Anthony's to try other menu items. Just go there you won't be disappointed!

The food is fantastic and the portions are huge. If you order the 12, you'll definitely have leftovers to take home for tomorrow!
