Rumi's Tavern - Jonestown

A cool local joint on the way to Lago Vista. Friends of ours recommended that if we were in the area to stop in as this is their hood hangout. Nothing fancy here nice little bar with a pool table and a few TVs. On a lazy Sunday afternoon, they were pretty empty but I 've heard that on their steak or taco nights it gets busy. They also have a stage for live music and according to our bartender, it can get crazy. Service at the bar was friendly and the drinks were well poured. Even though we were the only non-locals there we felt welcomed and had a few good chats with other patrons. Rumi 's is a tad out of the way for most but you are heading to/from Lago and require a cold brew or cocktail do stop by....

Went in with my crew (6 of us) to treat them to lunch and beers after a hard morning pouring concrete. We ordered draft dosXX and had to wait 20 minutes (there were only 3 other customers). They promptly ran out of draft dosXX. We ordered bottle dosXX and they only had 6. We ordered food and it trickled out to us for about an hour. A large group of senior citizens came in for some kind of private party and they were served promptly. They looked at us like we had 3 heads. Summary: Worst service on the planet. Freaky and unfriendly clientele. Ran out of beer on a Friday. Mediocre food. Freaky amount of glazed-eyed senior citizens who look at you with blank stares. They didn't bring all of the food we ordered. Waaaaaay overpriced food. Stay away unless you just crashed after a 3 day meth binge and you don't care about anything.

Great little bar. 1 pool table with free pool on Sundays. Open jam on Sundays. Staff is friendly. Patio is nice. Dogs allowed ON PATIO ONLY. Just a cool place to hang out

Friendly staff, older crowd. Food and drink were good. Music was good! The band smiledon played the other night had everyone dancing.

I always have the best time when I come out to Rumi's Tavern! The bartenders are so accommodating and the food is delicious! I meet interesting people from all over the world.. Everyone is just so nice! Last night was New Years and Crystal Image was playing. They rock BTW.. Rumi's had food and champagne Jell-O shots to ring in the New Year. Don't worry about being cold because they have amazing tents with heaters outside. This place is just cool...
