Bidrage med feedbackWe went here as a group of 9 people, although the cost per person was on the higher side, all had enough to eat and we had to taste 7 different dishes. the highlight for me were the salted ice cream slices and brokkoli in the mushroom soup with melted cheese above; I found that the latter fits very well with fried rice. the service was good waiter and waitresses have refilled our tassen with Chinese tee when they are empty. they have the choice to sit in an air-conditioned room or outside on their veranda.
This place is a hidden gem. Located at the Straits View Hotel, it has been very quiet lately due to the lack of tourists in recent times. The food here has been consistently good. The standout dishes being the steamed seabass in HK sauce and the fried horfun. It is halal certified which means no pork served. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Nice environment food ok nice too and reasonable price
Probably the best Muslim friendly Chinese restaurant in JB!
This is the typical Chinese restaurant that has stood the age of time since I was just a little kid in the late 70's. They serve down to earth delicious and fresh seafood cooked in Chinese style. I ordered the prawns in Indonesian sauce and fried squid in oatmeal with 4 stir fried veggies and it immediately brought me back to my childhood days when my family had annual year end singapore vacations. The smell and texture of the food as well as the taste jolted a part of my memory long ago. Prawns in Indonesian sauce is paired with fried man tau for you to dunk the lightly fried but fluffy bread in the almost tomyum like sauce. The prawns were large, juicy and succulent. The fried squid coated with oatmeal was amazing as well. Succulent and tender inside and lightly crunchy outside. I can't wait to go back to JB again to sample more. I used to frequent JB on a monthly basis but never knew this restaurant's existence then. Now that I know, this will be one of my favourite makan places in JB.
