Hege's - Johns Island

My husband and I tried to walk in to have a cocktail at the bar. Was told that there were reservations for the bar. (There was one couple there. we spoke to the second hostess about seats- and the first told her no- shaking her head aggressively. Thesecond hostess said sorry. Reservation only. I?m pretty certain they didn?t like our looks as I went online and there were tonsof reservations available for the bar. Glad I didn?t waste my money.

The Caprese salad was fantastic. The seafood was mediocre considering the restaurant's location on the coast. The lobster thermidor was disappointing, as it was mostly sauce with very little lobster meat. The dish was supposed to have a variety of seafood. The waiter provided good service. The shrimp was not great, but sometimes that happens. Overall, the staff did their best to take care of us.

Excellent dinner. Cleaned up the table in a timely manner. Service was good. Waiter was a nice gentleman. The vibe inside was perfect. Definitely recommend going there. Food options are delicious, I had French onion soup and roasted duck breast. Theentree was superb, with Brussels sprouts, candied yams and duck breast sliced with a berry type compote.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere was great and the food was delightful, with a gracious staff to match. Michaela, TJ, and Jackson were all fantastic. TJ provided excellent wine recommendations for our group, and Michaela went above and beyond in serving us. I highly recommend trying the short rib!

Our visit to Hege's was the highlight of our trip! Michaela at the bar was outstanding, she treated us like family and it was delightful to witness her rapport with the regulars. Tj's wine recommendations were fantastic - his expertise was impressive. The food was exceptional and the entire staff made it a truly memorable evening.
